Rohit Sharma has won two ICC tournaments for the Indian cricket team in the last 6 months, while a report is claiming that Rohit Sharma will not play in the next test series of Team India. He himself has refused to give his name. According to the report, Rohit Sharma has taken this decision. After IPL 2025, the Indian team is scheduled to travel to England, where it will play a five-match Test series. The report has claimed that Rohit Sharma does not want to go to England due to poor performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Even though reports are claiming that Rohit will not go to England. But in Rohit’s case many claims have been proved wrong earlier also.
Recently it was being claimed that Rohit Sharma may retire from ODI format after the Champions Trophy but this did not happen. However, the reason behind Rohit not going to England is said to be his poor performance in the Test series against Australia.
Rohit Sharma also kept himself out of the playing eleven in the Sydney Test and Jasprit Bumrah took command of the team.
Whereas, the possibility of Virat Kohli remaining in the Test team is very high. However, the performance of both Kohli and Rohit has been disappointing in India’s recent long Test season. Kohli scored only 382 runs in 19 innings at an average of 22.47, in which he had only one century and one half-century. Additionally, Rohit Sharma scored only 164 runs in 15 innings, with an average of 10.93 and only one half-century with his bat.
After consecutive series defeats against New Zealand and Australia, questions are being raised about the place of both the star batsmen in the Test team. However, since Kohli has a lot of experience playing in England, the team management is thinking of giving him a second chance in the Test team. India’s tour of England will start from June 20, the first test of which will be played at Headingley ground in Leeds.
