Rohit Shetty again receives death threat, demands ransom of Rs 20 crore; Mumbai Police engaged in investigation

Mumbai. Bollywood director Rohit Shetty has once again received death threats. On Saturday morning, his staff received an audio clip in which a ransom of Rs 20 crore was allegedly demanded. There is a warning in the audio that if the amount is not given then this time the target will be Rohit Shetty directly instead of his house.

After the incident came to light, Mumbai Police has started investigating the matter. At present, the identity of the person making the threat has not been confirmed and the police is trying to find out who is behind it.

Audio clip demanding ransom of Rs 20 crore found

According to media reports, Rohit Shetty’s staff received an audio clip of about 90 seconds on Saturday morning. In this, a ransom of Rs 20 crore has been demanded and a threat has been made to kill if the amount is not received. Police have registered a case in this matter and started investigating the audio clip.

Audio clip suspected to be linked to Shubham Lonkar

According to reports, the voice heard in the audio clip is allegedly that of Shubham Lonkar, a close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi. Shubham Lonkar is wanted in the case of murder of Baba Siddiqui in the year 2024 and firing outside Rohit Shetty’s house earlier this year. However, the audio has been sent for forensic examination to confirm the voice.

There was firing outside Rohit Shetty’s house in February also.

Earlier, late night on February 1, five rounds of firing took place outside Rohit Shetty’s house in Juhu. After that incident, Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the attack. Police had arrested Deepak Sharma from Agra in the case. During interrogation, he told that he was influenced by Bishnoi gang through social media and under its influence he opened fire.

Talking about work front, Rohit Shetty is in the headlines these days for his stunt based reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’. The show will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm on Colors TV and Jio Hotstar from July 25. This season will see many celebrities including Farhana Bhatt, Ori, Gaurav Khanna, Rubina Dilaik, Karan Wahi, Avinash Mishra, Jasmine Bhasin, Ritwik Dhanjani, Avika Gaur, Harsh Gujral, Shagun Sharma and Vishal Aditya Singh.
