Lahore-based Pakistani model Roma Michael recently sparked a major online controversy after appearing in the swimwear segment of the Miss World Grand competition.
Roma, a seasoned figure in the entertainment world with a B.Tech degree from the University of South Asia, has garnered a massive social media following.
She has starred in films such as Dehli Gate and Kahy Dil Jidhar, and is known for her roles in drama series like Tu Zindagi Hai and Pyari Nemoo.
Her latest role is in the Green TV drama Iqtidar. Additionally, Roma has appeared in numerous commercials and fashion campaigns for well-known Pakistani brands.
Despite her achievements, her participation in the Miss World Grand pageant has stirred significant controversy online. A video of her swimsuit walk, shared on Instagram, faced widespread backlash from Pakistani users, who criticized the move as a violation of cultural values and accused her of damaging the country’s reputation.
The fierce criticism eventually led Roma to remove the video from her Instagram account.
