Rouse Avenue Court seeks reply from CBI in Rs 20 thousand crore scam, next hearing will be held on March 25, case related to Bitcoin

New Delhi. Rouse Avenue Court on Friday sought response from the Central Bureau of Investigation on the regular bail application of accused Ayush Varshney. He is in judicial custody till March 30. IIT topper Varshney was arrested by the CBI for the first time in this case on charges of alleged Bitcoin scam of Rs 20 thousand crore. It is alleged that he was trying to flee to Sri Lanka and was arrested at the airport on the basis of the lookout circular.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mayank Goyal sought a response from the CBI and fixed March 25 for hearing the case. Varshney has applied for bail through lawyer Dhruv Gupta. On March 17, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neetu Nagar had sent Ayush Varshney to judicial custody till March 30. He has been arrested in a case registered under the Information Act including sections 406 and 420 of the IPC. It has been told that the accused is the co-founder of Darwin Lab. According to CBI, this case is related to the Gain Bitcoin scheme launched in 2015. It is alleged that this scheme was started by Amit Bhardwaj, (who has died) along with his brother Ajay Bhardwaj and his network. It is alleged that investors were lured with ten percent returns. Delhi Police has registered several FIRs in this matter and the Enforcement Directorate is also conducting a parallel investigation.
