Royal Enfield Launches Flying Flea Electric Motorcycle At Rs 2.79 Lakh
After a long wait, Royal Enfield has finally launched its first-ever electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea, in the market. The company has been testing this motorcycle for a long time, and we have seen several videos and images of test mules on our roads. The Flying Flea C6 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Royal Enfield is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, under which the price drops to Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Flying Flea marks Royal Enfield’s entry into the EV space. If you compare its pricing with other Royal Enfield models, it is more expensive than any of the 350cc bikes and even the recently updated Guerrilla 450. However, when compared to electric motorcycles like the Ultraviolette F77, it appears more affordable, as the F77 starts at Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom). That said, this is not a fair comparison, as both motorcycles belong to different categories, and the Ultraviolette offers a larger battery pack.
The Flying Flea is one of the most awaited electric motorcycles from the Indian brand. Its design is unlike any Royal Enfield we have seen so far, and this has been done intentionally. The bike features a very minimalistic, stripped-down design. The name “Flying Flea” is inspired by the original motorcycle used by troops in the 1940s.

The Flying Flea C6 comes with a sleek front end featuring a girder fork setup, making it the only motorcycle in the market currently to offer this feature. The girder fork is made from forged aluminium and plays a crucial role in the bike’s overall design. The sleek fuel tank retains a teardrop shape, and the motorcycle is built on a dedicated EV platform.
The Flying Flea is equipped with 19-inch wheels and slim tyres at both the front and rear. This lightweight design has helped Royal Enfield keep the weight down to just 124 kg. The seat height stands at 823 mm, making it the lightest Royal Enfield motorcycle currently on sale. This also means that riding the Flying Flea through narrow and congested roads should be relatively easy and less tiring.

While the motorcycle may look simple on the outside, Royal Enfield has equipped it with a decent number of features. It comes with a round 3.5-inch TFT display that shows all essential information. The switchgear is new and includes dedicated controls for adjustable regenerative braking. It also offers five riding modes – City, Rain, Highway, Sport, and Custom – along with switchable dual-channel ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, and more.
The motorcycle is powered by a 3.91 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 154 km. It produces 20 PS and 60 Nm of torque. The battery fins are made of magnesium, and the electric motor sends power to the rear wheel via a belt drive system. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 115 km/h.
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 may not appeal to all buyers. On paper, it may not seem like the most value-for-money option. However, if you are looking for a unique electric motorcycle from one of the oldest motorcycle brands still in production, the Flying Flea could definitely be worth considering.
