RRTS is a game changer… German Ambassador rides on completion of 1 year of Delhi-Meerut Rapid Transit System – Read

One year of Delhi-Meerut Rapid Transit System has been completed. This train was started on October 21, 2023. During this one year, lakhs of passengers have enjoyed this high speed modern train service. The operation of this train has changed the traffic in the capital Delhi, Ghaziabad, Sahibabad and surrounding areas to a great extent. On completion of one year of the train’s operation, German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann also enjoyed its journey.

During the train journey, Philip Ackerman said that he is thrilled to avail the service of Delhi-Meerut Transit System on the anniversary. He said that this is a testament to the successful Indo-German cooperation between NCRTC and Deutsche Bahn. It is modern, efficient and a game-changer for commuting between these big cities.

40 lakh passengers in 365 days

The first passenger service of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (Delhi-Meerut RRTS) started on October 21, 2023. Last Monday, India’s first RRTS service completed one year of operation. It has served more than 40 lakh passengers in the last 365 days. This is the first train service of its kind in India connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut.

RRTS service expansion soon

On completion of one year of this train service, Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also rode it. He visited major stations of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. At present this train is running at a distance of 42 kilometers. Which includes nine stations – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North and Meerut South. By connecting Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar section, this corridor will soon reach 54 kilometers.
