RTC employees of Telangana are upset, government announced 2.1% DA increase, know how much the salary will increase

News India Live, Digital Desk: There is good news for Telangana government employees, especially Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) personnel. The Telangana government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday took a major decision to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) of RTC employees by 2.1 percent. Making its official announcement, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that thousands of employees will get direct financial benefits from this decision. This increase will be considered effective from January 1, 2026.

Dearness allowance increased from 50.7% to 52.8%

After this decision of the government, now the dearness allowance of TGSRTC employees has increased from 50.7 percent to 52.8 percent. Speaking to reporters after the review meeting, the Transport Minister said that this step has been taken keeping in mind the welfare of the employees. Earlier in July 2025 also, the government had increased DA by 2.1 percent. Due to this continuous increase, there will be a significant increase in the salaries of the employees, which is expected to provide them a big relief in the times of rising inflation.

3 months arrears will be given in three installments

The biggest question in the minds of the employees was regarding arrears. Giving clarification on this, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the outstanding money for January, February and March 2026 will be given to the employees in three equal installments. This payment will be made through supplementary bills within the next three months. This decision of the government will put an additional financial burden of about Rs 2.82 crore every month on RTC, but the government has clarified that the resources will be managed in such a way that the employees can be paid on time.

Emphasis on employee welfare and new recruitments

Apart from the DA hike, improvement in RTC infrastructure and other pending demands of the employees were also discussed in the meeting. The government has indicated that RTC hospitals will be modernized and new recruitment on vacant posts will also be started soon so that the workload on the existing staff can be reduced. Welcoming the decision, TGSRTC Managing Director V. Nagi Reddy said that the employees were waiting for this announcement for a long time and it will boost their morale.
