Some of the reactions on X are here:

Amorim will now have a huge task of rescuing a sinking ship in Manchester United as the club sits at thirteenth on the Premier League table. United fans can hope for good though by seeing the current form of Sporting Lison. Lisbon are the current leaders of the Liga Portugal 2024-25 and also second on the UCL 2024-25 table with 10 points.

Manchester City, on the other hand, are 4th on the UCL table, having the same points (7 points) as the 14th-placed Croatian club GNK Dinamo Zagreb.

It is the third consecutive loss for City, the first two being against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup and A.F.C. Bournemouth in the Premier League. With the loss, City lost their leading position on the Premier League table, as Liverpool are leading with 25 points, two more than City.
