Ruckus at AI summit: Youth Congress worker detained, BJP calls ‘national shame’

New Delhi: An unexpected situation occurred on Friday during the prestigious AI Summit held in New Delhi, when some workers associated with Youth Congress allegedly took off their shirts and started raising slogans against the Central Government. This protest that took place during the program created an atmosphere of chaos for some time.

According to eyewitnesses, in a hall of the program going on in Bharat Mandapam, suddenly some people took off their shirts, waved them in the air and started raising slogans. The protesters claimed that their protest was against the trade agreement with America.

Delhi Police action

Immediately after the incident, Delhi Police took action and detained 4-5 people. According to police officials, it is being investigated how the concerned persons managed to enter the venue. It is also being seen whether they had gained entry through pass or QR code.

Videos went viral on social media

The videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media. In the clips, some workers are seen wearing vests and waving T-shirts with the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on them. Congress’s stance

The Indian National Congress has already been alleging that India did not get the expected benefits in the new trade framework with America. This protest was lodged regarding this issue.

BJP’s counterattack

Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly condemned this incident. Party’s IT department head Amit Malviya termed it as “national shame”. Posting on X he wrote,"National shame. At a time when India is hosting a prestigious global AI summit, showcasing its innovation and leadership in technology, the Congress party chose disruption over dignity."

Malviya targeted Rahul Gandhi and alleged that this protest took place under his leadership and it hurt India’s image on the international stage.

he adds,"At a time when the country is attempting to consolidate its position as a global technology superpower, such conduct only serves the interests of those who want to see India weakened. Political protest is a democratic right, but harming India’s global image is not. India deserves better than this."
