Ruckus in Parliament over ‘abuse’ on PM Modi, BJP demands apology from Sonia Gandhi

PM Modi: The atmosphere in Parliament seemed completely heated on Monday. There was a huge uproar in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over the alleged use of objectionable words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The situation worsened so much that both the Houses had to be adjourned as soon as the proceedings began. BJP cornered Congress on this issue and directly demanded Sonia Gandhi to apologize to the country.

Kiren Rijiju raised the issue in Lok Sabha

BJP MP Kiran Rijiju in Lok Sabha launched a scathing attack on Congress. He said that we can be political rivals, not enemies. Citing the example of 2014, Rijiju said that when a BJP MP had made a mistake, PM Modi himself had apologized. He raised the question why Congress is not doing this now? According to him, this kind of language against the Prime Minister of 1.4 billion people is shameful.

JP Nadda’s strong statement in Rajya Sabha

BJP President in Rajya Sabha JP Nadda said that the slogans raised in the Congress rally show their thinking and mentality. He said that such language for the Prime Minister is condemnable and senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and the leader of the opposition should apologize to the country. Nadda alleged that Congress has crossed all limits of degradation in politics.

Controversy arose from the rally at Ramlila Maidan

In fact, on Sunday, Congress had organized a “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. In this rally, slogans were raised against PM Modi, on which BJP expressed strong objection. Many big leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi were present on the stage. BJP alleges that raising such slogans in the presence of leaders is a serious matter.

Rahul and Priyanka’s statements increased the heat

In the rally, Rahul Gandhi targeted RSS and the government and said that Modi government will be removed by standing with the truth. Priyanka Gandhi alleged that BJP avoids debate in Parliament and does not allow real issues of the public to be discussed. Congress says that the government is afraid of questions, while BJP is calling it insulting politics.
