Change in rules of PM Kisan Yojana

There is a need to pay attention to the farmers taking benefit of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. In many states including Uttar Pradesh, if farmers do not have ID, their installment amount of this scheme may be stopped. Apart from this, there will also be changes in PM Crop Insurance Scheme. From the year 2026, damage caused to Kharif crops by wild animals will also be included in the insurance cover. However, in case of loss, it will be necessary to report within 72 hours.

new tax law

There is also going to be a change in the tax law in the new year. However, the new Income Tax Act 2025, which will replace the old Income Tax Act 1961, will not be fully implemented from January 1, 2026. This will be effective from April 1, 2026, which will be applicable on income from the financial year 2026-27 (tax year 2026-27). The government may notify new ITR forms and related rules by January 2026, but these new forms will be primarily for use for FY 2026-27 income (i.e. for filing in AY 2027-28). ITR forms for the financial year 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) will still be issued under the old Act 1961.

8th pay commission implemented

Central employees may get some good news on the occasion of New Year. It is believed that the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission may be implemented from January 1, 2026. Even if there is a delay in the announcement, employees can get benefits (arrears) from the previous date. However, experts say that although the commission has been constituted and its Terms of Reference (ToR) have also been notified in November 2025, the benefits of increased salary and pension will not be available immediately. Employees and pensioners may have to wait now, because the commission has been given 18 months to give its recommendations.

PAN and Aadhar card link is necessary

Change in price of LPG, PNG and CNG

LPG cylinder prices are reviewed on the first of every month. Companies had reduced the prices of commercial cylinders by Rs 10 in the month of December. It is believed that there may be a reduction in the price of domestic gas cylinders on the occasion of New Year i.e. on January 1, 2026. At the same time, the price of CNG and PNG may also change.
