Prices of LPG cylinders increased, cars and electronic goods like air conditioners and refrigerators also became expensive. gas cylinder becomes expensive
The new year has started with the increase in gas prices. Oil companies have increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders. This is the same cylinder which is used in hotels, dhabas and shops. Now this cylinder has become costlier by about Rs 111 in Delhi. The cylinder which was earlier available for Rs 1580, will now have to pay around Rs 1690. Prices have also increased in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
However, the 14 kg gas cylinder used in homes is still available at the same price as before. No change has been made in it. It is a matter of relief that PNG gas has become a little cheaper in Delhi-NCR. IGL has reduced its price, due to which the bill for piped gas in homes will be a little lighter.

Relief for air travelers
While gas has become expensive, there is good news for those traveling by flight. The fuel used in airplanes has become cheaper.
Air fuel prices have decreased in all big cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. This will reduce the cost of airlines and ticket prices may also come down in the coming days.
Buying a car is now more expensive
Many car companies have announced to increase the prices of their vehicles in India from January 1, 2026. This includes companies like Hyundai, MG, Nissan. This increase is mainly due to input costs, logistics expenses and currency fluctuations. Most of the increases are 2-3%.
- Mercedes-Benz: Prices of all models (C-Class, E-Class, GLC, GLE) have increased by 2%.
- Nissan India: The prices of Magnite and other cars have increased by up to 3%.
- MG Motor: Prices of Hector, Astor and electric cars (ZS EV, Comet) increased by 2%.
- Renault India: Cars like Kwid, Triber and Kiger have now become costlier by 2%.
- Hyundai India: Prices across the range including Creta, Venue and i20 increased by 0.6%.
- BYD India: Announcement of increasing the prices of Ato 3 and Seal. It is not clear how much it will increase.
- Honda Cars: There will also be a change in the prices of City and Amaze. It is not clear how much the prices will increase.
It is clear that now to buy the same car you will have to pay more money than before.

Relief on goods sent to Australia
The government has given big relief to businessmen sending goods from India to Australia. Now there will be no tax on goods going from India to Australia.
This decision has been taken under the trade agreement between India and Australia. Indian exporters will benefit from this and trade is expected to increase.

Banks will remain closed for more days in January
If you are thinking of going to the bank in the month of January, then first check the list of holidays. Banks will remain closed for about 16 days this month. Sometimes banks will remain closed due to festivals, sometimes weekends and sometimes national holidays. However, online banking, UPI and mobile apps will continue to operate as usual.
