4 big changes happening in June
- Commercial cylinders became costlier by ₹ 53.50
Change: Oil companies have increased the price of commercial gas cylinders by Rs 53.50. In Delhi, the price has increased to Rs 3,113.50. Earlier it was available for Rs 3,071.50.
Impact: Increase in the prices of commercial cylinders will increase the operating expenses of restaurant owners. As a result, they may increase the prices of tea, breakfast items and thalis (food plates). Catering services for weddings and events can also be expensive.
- Export duty reduced on petrol, diesel and ATF
Change: The central government has reduced the export duty on petrol, diesel and aviation fuel. The new rates have come into effect from today, June 1. The export duty on petrol has been fixed at Rs 1.50 per litre, while the export duty on diesel has been fixed at Rs 13.50 per litre.
Export duty on aviation fuel (ATF) has been fixed at Rs 9.50 per liter.
Effect: This is a type of tax that the government imposes on goods sold outside the country. Refinery companies will gain more from this tax reduction. There will be no change in the domestic prices of petrol and diesel.
- HDFC Bank will stop SMS alerts for small UPI transactions
Change: HDFC Bank is completely stopping mobile SMS notifications for small UPI transactions. You will get SMS notification on sending money only if you transfer more than Rs 100 to someone. You will get SMS notification on receipt of money only when an amount of more than Rs 500 is deposited in your account.
Impact: Typically, multiple UPI payments of Rs 10, Rs 20 or Rs 50 are made throughout the day for tea, vegetables or other small expenses. Inboxes were filled with continuous notifications of these transactions. Now users will get relief from this problem.
- Strict rules for subsidized solar panels
Change: From now on, only solar panels made by government approved manufacturers can be used in rooftop solar and net-metering projects.
Impact: This decision will increase the demand for certified solar panels made in the country. Although this may cost customers more initially, they will be guaranteed a safe solar system that will provide excellent quality and a reliable warranty for a long time.
