- Rules of Rail Travel: The fine for passengers traveling without a ticket has been increased from Rs 250 to Rs 500. Also, strict action will be taken against traveling on someone else’s reserved ticket or unauthorized entry into the women’s compartment.
- LPG Gas Cylinder Rates: On the 1st of every month, oil companies review the prices of LPG, CNG and PNG. Accordingly, there is a possibility of change in domestic and commercial cylinder rates on July 1.
- Free Aadhaar Update : There has been a big relief regarding updating Aadhaar card from 1st July. You can update Aadhaar absolutely free and if email ID is to be updated through Aadhaar, the fee of Rs 75 is waived off.
- SBI Credit Card: New rules and limits will apply on reward points and other charges on the use of SBI credit cards, especially on payments made through platforms like PhonePe.
- Income Tax Return (ITR): The last date for filing income tax returns for the financial year 2025-26 is 31st July. Salaried persons and those whose accounts are not required to be audited, must start filing form ITR-1 or ITR-2 from July 1. (
- e-KYC Update : It has been made mandatory for LPG customers to complete the e-KYC process, the deadline of which was June-end. Strict implementation of this can start from July 1.
- Fixed Deposit (FD) Interest Rate : Many banks are likely to change their fixed deposit (FD) interest rates and rules from July 1.
