Rules of caste, income and residence certificate changed in Bihar, now new documents will be required

Patna. A major change has been made in the rules for making caste, income and residence certificates in Bihar. The government says that this will make the system more transparent, but for the common people the process has become more complicated than before.

What is the new rule?

After the implementation of the new rules, now only Aadhar card or one or two common documents is not enough. People have to submit many additional documents. Due to this, the crowd at RTPS counters has increased and many people are returning due to incomplete documents.

for caste certificate

Now land related documents like Khatian, donation letter or revenue records have been made mandatory for caste certificate. Those who do not have land will also have to provide relevant proof.

for income certificate

For income certificate, employed people will have to provide documents like salary slip, pensioners will have to provide pension slip and in some cases income tax return.

for residence certificate

For residence certificate, the requirement of documents proving identity and residence like ration card, voter ID, electricity bill, Aadhaar card etc. has been increased.

However, the administration has made it clear that no fee will be charged for these certificates and the process will be completely free. But now the documents will be examined more strictly than before. There is confusion among people regarding the new rules, especially students are facing more problems because many times the certificate is not being prepared on time.
