There was a stampede among the passengers in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra on Wednesday evening after the rumor of fire in Mumbai Pushpak Express train. Fearing fire, the passengers in the train hurriedly jumped onto the side tracks. Meanwhile, unfortunately another train was coming from the opposite direction. In such a situation, some passengers got hit by the train. Officials have informed that at least 13 passengers have died in this accident.

This incident happened near Pachora city

The accident occurred between Maheji and Pardhade stations near Pachora town in Jalgaon district of northern Maharashtra. Rumors spread about fire in Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express train number 12533. To save their lives, the passengers jumped onto the side track and collided with the Karnataka Express going from Bengaluru to Delhi. According to Central Railway, about 15 passengers have also been injured in this accident and they are undergoing treatment.

PM expressed condolences to the families of the victims

However, Dilip Kumar, acting director of the Information and Publicity Department of the Railway Board, has denied that there was a fire inside the train. He said, ‘According to the information we received, no spark or fire was seen in the coach. But despite all this, if there was no fire then how did the rumor spread? Why did he die?

Government will give Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased

At present, railway officials are busy finding out the exact cause of the accident. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences to the families of the passengers killed in the accident. Quoting PM Modi, PMO wrote in X Post, ‘I am saddened by the tragic accident that took place on the railway track in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. I express my condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of all the injured. Officials are providing all possible help to the affected people. At the same time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed grief over the accident by releasing a video from Davos, Switzerland. He said, ‘People lost their lives in a very unfortunate incident near Pachora in Jalgaon district, which is very sad.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has described this incident as very sad.

He wrote on ‘X’, ‘The train accident that happened in Jalgaon, Maharashtra is very sad. I spoke to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in this regard and took stock of the situation. The local administration is providing all possible help to the injured. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

What did Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav say?

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also expressed grief over the accident. The statement issued by the Railway Board said, ‘Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed deep sorrow over this incident. He took complete information about the incident from the Chairman of the Railway Board and other officials and for the proper treatment of all the injured, the Railway Board separately gave Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased. 1.5 lakh and to the seriously injured Rs.
