Big statement of Rupali Chakankar embroiled in Ashok Kharat controversy
Ashok Kharat Case: Senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Rupali Chakankar Resigned from the post of president of Maharashtra women’s wing of the party. His move has come at a time when the arrested astrologer was under constant criticism regarding the controversies related to Ashok Kharat. It is noteworthy that she has given this resignation just a few days after stepping down from the post of Chairman of Maharashtra State Women Commission.
Actually, many pictures of Rupali Chakankar with Ashok Kharat had gone viral in which she was also seen washing his feet during the puja. Since then, he is continuously being seen in association with Kharat. Serious cases like sexual exploitation and blackmailing have been filed against Kharat by many women and he is currently in police custody.
What did Rupali Chakankar say?
After her resignation, Rupali Chakankar clarified that she had nothing to do with this matter. He said, “I had made my stand clear on the very first day in the Kharat case. There is no remote connection between his financial dealings and his misconduct, my stand remains the same even today. All these matters will definitely be resolved during the investigation. The false and untrue allegations being made through the media without any evidence are extremely sad. The truth will come out with full force.”
What is Rupali’s demand?
In his resignation letter, Chakankar has appealed to the top leadership of the state government to ensure a fair investigation. He requested Devendra Fadnavis, Sunetra Pawar and Sadanand Vasant Date to conduct a transparent investigation into this matter. He told that he decided to resign from his post only after a phone conversation with Deputy Chief Minister Pawar.
What were the revelations in the SIT investigation?
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Kharat case has received more than 50 calls in the last five days. These calls came after SIT made two mobile numbers public to share information with the people. During the investigation, the police recovered a revolver, 21 cartridges and five empty shells from Kharat.
Apart from this, Rs 6 lakh in cash, two laptops and many important documents have also been seized. Following the order of Nashik court, Ashok Kharat has been sent to police custody till March 29. The investigating agencies are busy connecting every link of this case, due to which more big revelations are possible in the coming days.
