Rural courts in Odisha soon: Law Minister
In a bid to provide judiciary services at the door steps, Odisha government will set up Rural (Village Courts) in each block, said Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Thursday.
While gracing an occasion at the Lok Seva Bhawan relating to novel policing and efficient judiciary services Harichandan said, “We are committed to set up at least six new ‘Gram Nyayalayas (Rural Courts)’ that will serve as mediation centres and will go a long way in reducing the load on the higher judicial institutions.”
“Moreover, a Law Commission will be formed soon which will study on the feasibility and efficacy of some irrelevant laws and recommend for their amendment and scraping”, the law Minister added.
