New Delhi. Ukrainian officials said on Monday that Russia shelled the Kiev-controlled Donetsk region overnight. The shelling has caused damage in many districts of eastern Ukraine. All this happened amid peace talks between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida to end the war in Europe. Russian forces launched seven shelling attacks on settlements in the Donetsk region overnight, according to a statement shared on Telegram by the head of the Donetsk regional state administration and the regional military administration. In which one person died and five were injured.

Let us tell you that five residential houses were destroyed in Shakhivska community in Pokrovsk district, including three in Kucherev Yar and two in Gruzki. One person was injured in Lyman in the Kramatorsk district. A house was destroyed in the Starodubivka community of Mykolaiv. Two private houses were completely destroyed in the attacks in Sloviansk, killing one civilian and injuring four others, while 42 other houses and four vehicles were damaged. At least two homes were damaged in Riznikivka and Siversk community in Bakhmut district. Five houses were destroyed in the Shakhivska community in Pokrovsky District. Three houses were destroyed in Kucherev Yar and two in Gruzki. The regional administration said that amid the ongoing hostilities, 108 civilians were evacuated from front-line areas, including 18 children. These latest attacks come at a time when international attention remains on diplomatic efforts related to this conflict. Because on Sunday (local time) there was a conversation between Zelensky and Trump at the US President’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. The two leaders discussed the proposed 20-point peace framework, security guarantees and possible regional agreements to end the conflict. Before meeting the Ukrainian president, Trump also had a long telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart and said it was good and very productive.
