Russian President Putin thanks PM Modi for his efforts to resolve Ukraine crisis
New Delhi, 5 December. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting at Hyderabad House on Friday. PM Modi gave his address at the beginning of the meeting. After this, President Putin also gave his address. Russian President issues statement on stopping war with Ukraine.
President Vladimir Putin said, ‘Thank you very much for inviting me. I can share a lot of details about the events happening in Ukraine. We are discussing a possible peaceful statement with some partners, including the United States. Thank you for your attention in finding a solution to this situation.
Putin said, ‘Our methods are deeply rooted in history, but words do not matter, what matters is the essence of the matter, which is very deep. We really appreciate that you, as the PM, give this special and personal attention.
President Putin further said, ‘Over the past few years, you have done a lot to improve our relationship. We are opening more areas for cooperation including high-tech aircraft, space exploration, and artificial intelligence.
Earlier, PM Modi said, ‘Since yesterday, the people of the delegation have been busy in many meetings. This summit is moving forward with many results. This journey of yours is very historic. It has been 25 years since you took charge in 2001 and visited India for the first time. The foundation of the strategic partnership was laid in that first visit. For me personally, it is a matter of happiness that it has been 25 years since my acquaintance and relationship with you. I believe that the role you played in 2001, the relationship between India and Russia is a great example of how a visionary leader thinks, where he starts and how far he can take the relations.
Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, PM Modi said, ‘We have been discussing continuously after the Ukraine crisis. As a true friend, you also kept us informed about everything from time to time. Faith is a great power. I have discussed this topic with you many times and have also shared my understanding of the world. The welfare of the world lies only on the path of peace. We all should together find the path to peace.
Expressing India’s stand, PM Modi said, ‘With the efforts that have been going on for the past few days to find peace, I am confident that the world will once again return in the direction of peace. Recently, with all the leaders of the world community I have talked to, I have always said that India is not neutral. India’s side is the side of peace. We support every effort for peace and we stand shoulder to shoulder with every effort for peace.
He said, ‘The whole world has gone through many crises since Covid till now. We hope that very soon the world will be free from worries and the world communities will get a new hope on the path of progress in the right direction.
Prime Minister Modi said, ‘I am confident that today we are going to discuss many topics throughout the day. May the economic relations between India and Russia expand further, may we achieve new heights. We will take our meeting forward with such optimistic results.
