Russia’s ‘Dandelion Tank’ is a new solution to protect against drones, its design is fantastic, know its specialty

Drones in the Ukraine war have posed a big challenge for both Russia and Ukraine. To protect against these, Russia is constantly testing new security measures. Now it has introduced a new and strange design, which is being called ‘Dandelion Tank’. It looks a bit strange, but experts believe that this may be the most effective method to protect against drones at the moment.

Let us tell you that this tank armor is called ‘Oduvanchik’ in Russia, which means ‘Dandelion’. In this, flexible metal rods are spread in several layers like tree branches and a strong mesh is placed in between. This creates a three-dimensional security circle, which is capable of preventing the tank from being hit at a distance by a drone attack.

This new design is an improvement over last year’s ‘hedgehog armour’, which was made of thick rods. According to military analysts, Dandelion armor can be used as the best defense against drones by combining it with the original armor of the T-90 tank. However, increasing the weight of this armor may affect the speed of the tank and make it easier for drones to target.

However, this shield is not completely effective and, like every security measure, it has limitations. The Ukrainian army is still becoming adept at attacking with drones under the tank, where its armor is weak.
