Thiruvananthapuram. R. Arun Kumar Namboothiri has been elected as the chief priest of Sabarimala Temple. Namboodiri will take charge on November 15. He was selected through a traditional draw, in which Rishikesh, a young boy from Pandalam Palace, won the lottery.

Arun Kumar Namboothiri, a native of Sakthikulangara in Kollam, has previously served as the chief priest of Attukal Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Similarly, T. Vasudevan Namboothiri of Olavanna, Kozhikode has been selected as the Chief Priest of Malikappuram through a draw of lots, with a young girl from Pandalam Palace. Vaishnavi has chosen lottery.
