Keerthana contested the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections for the first time and won. He received 68,709 votes and defeated his nearest rival Ashokan G by a margin of 11,670 votes.

Keerthana is among the 9 MLAs who took oath as ministers at the swearing-in ceremony of C. Joseph Vijay today. On this occasion, he said, “Today is a big day for Tamil Nadu and its people. This is the moment for which everyone was waiting.”
