SA vs AFG: A fierce match of Group D in the T20 World Cup 2026 was played today on 11 February at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Where South Africa won by defeating Afghanistan in the double super over.

Both the teams scored 187-187 runs in 20-20 overs, which left the fans breathless. In the second super over, South Africa scored 23 runs, whereas in the reply innings, Afghanistan was limited to 19 runs. Today’s match was very interesting.

Batting first, South Africa scored 187 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai of Afghanistan bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets. Captain Rashid Khan also took 2 victims. South Africa’s batting was fast, which became the basis for making the match exciting.

Great start for Afghanistan, then a wobbly innings

In response, Afghanistan started the offensive. Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 50 runs in the first 4 overs, but Lungi Ngidi dismissed Zadran (12 runs). Gulbadin Naib returned without opening the account in the very next over.

Sediq Atal was also out for zero in the powerplay. Afghanistan scored 100 runs till the 11th over, but in the end lost wickets while trying to increase the run rate. Kagiso Rabada gave 12 runs in the last over, due to which the score became equal.

South Africa wins in double super over

Afghanistan scored 17 runs in the first super over, South Africa also added 17 runs. Once again the second super over started after the match was tied. In the second super over, South Africa batted first and scored 23 runs. In reply, Afghanistan could score only 19 runs in Keshav Maharaj’s fatal over. In this way South Africa won the match.
