Heinrich Klaasen had to pay a heavy price for showing anger, because of this ICC fined him
South Africa's star batsman Heinrich Klaasen, who played a brilliant inning of 97 runs in the second ODI against Pakistan, is once again in the headlines. Apart from batting brilliantly in the second ODI, Klaasen did something due to which the ICC (International Cricket Council) fined him for violating the code of conduct.
The star batsman has been fined 15% of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct. Players and player support personnel have also had one demerit point added to their disciplinary records for breaching Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players. It is noteworthy that this fine has been imposed on him after he kicked the stumps after getting out against Pakistan in the second ODI of the ongoing series.
The African team had a huge target of 330 runs in 50 overs in the second match to stay in the series and win the match, but except Heinrich Klaasen, no other batsman could stay on the wicket and the result was that the African team lost by 81 runs. Had to lose this match. As long as Klaasen was at the crease, the hopes of the African team were alive but the hearts of the fans were broken when Klaasen was out after scoring 97 runs on 74 balls.
Talking about this match, Pakistan batted first and scored 329 runs. Babar (73) and captain Rizwan (80) added 115 runs in 142 balls for the third wicket. After this, Player of the Match Kamran Ghulam scored 63 runs in 32 balls and played an important role in taking Pakistan beyond 300. He hit five sixes in his stormy innings. Despite Klaasen's 97 runs, the African team was all out after scoring 248 runs in 43.1 overs.
