SA vs SL 1st Test: Sri Lanka's innings ends in 13.5 overs, such defeat in Test cricket after 100 years
Sports news: The Sri Lankan team gave its worst performance so far in the first Test against South Africa at the Kingsmead ground in Durban. By the end of the second day's play, South Africa had completely taken control of the match.
South Africa's first innings was reduced to 191 runs.
Due to rain on the first day, only 20.4 overs of play were possible, in which South Africa scored 80 runs for four wickets. Starting the game on the second day, the host team was all out for 191 runs. Captain Temba Bavuma played a brilliant inning of 70 runs, while Keshav Maharaj contributed 24 runs.
Among Sri Lankan bowlers, Asita Fernando and Lahiru Kumara took three wickets each, while the remaining wickets went to other bowlers.
Sri Lanka's lowest score in test history
In response to South Africa's 191 runs, the Sri Lankan team gave a performance which it probably will not be able to forget for a long time. The entire team collapsed for just 42 runs, which is Sri Lanka's lowest score so far in Test cricket.
From Sri Lanka, only Kamindu Mendis (13) and Lahiru Kumara (10 not out) could touch double figures. The rest of the batsmen could not stand against the South African bowlers.

South African fast bowler Marco Jensen wreaked havoc, taking seven wickets for 13 runs in just 6.5 overs. The Sri Lankan batsmen had no answer to his deadly bowling. Apart from this, Kagiso Rabada took one wicket and Gerald Coetzee took two wickets.
Sri Lanka's previous lowest score
Sri Lanka's previous lowest Test score was 71 runs, which it made against Pakistan in 1994. Even in 2006, Sri Lanka was all out for 73 runs against Pakistan.
