SA vs WI: The 47th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is being played between South Africa and West Indies at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. In this match, West Indies captain Shai Hope and South Africa captain Aiden Markram came to the field for the toss. During this, South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first. Along with this, Markram invited West Indies to bat first.
What did both the captains say on the toss?
After winning the toss, South African captain Aiden Markram said, ‘We will bowl first. The wicket looks quite good, we have played a few games here. It seems a bit difficult and we will try to take full advantage of it. We have been lucky to play some games here, the conditions have been different and we are looking forward to it. It is the same team, we have not made any changes in our team.
After losing the toss, West Indies captain Shai Hope said, ‘If we had won the toss, we would have bowled first. We have made a change. Roston Chase has replaced Akil Hosein. It’s just a tactical change, he has not been dropped because he has played very well. We have played good cricket so far and the boys are ready for this game.
