Rashid bowled brilliantly in the first season and took 9 wickets at an average of 30 and an economy of less than 7. Regarding his return, the franchise said that the team will get new energy under the captaincy of Rashid. In the T20 World Cup 2024, he captained Afghanistan and reached the semi-finals, where the team had to face defeat against South Africa.
In its statement, Mumbai Indians Cape Town described Rashid as a 'magician of spin and a game-changer'. The franchise said that he was missed last season, but this time the team is expected to perform better under his captaincy.
Pollard captained
Rashid will take charge of the team in the third season along with big players like Ben Stokes, Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada. The last two seasons of Mumbai Indians Cape Town have been very bad and the team remained at the bottom of the points table. Last time, Kieron Pollard captained the team in Khan's absence, but the team did not get success.
