After this, Super Giants also made a good start while chasing the target of 166 runs. Openers Bryce Parsons and Matthew Britzke added 40 runs for the first wicket.
This pair broke when Parsons was run out after scoring 23 runs in 21 balls and as soon as this opening pair broke, Durban's train derailed and after this they were never able to recover and the entire team was all out after scoring 107 runs in 18.1 overs. Left-arm spinner Liam Dawson took advantage of the spin-friendly conditions at Kingsmead to dismiss Kane Williamson (3) and Bretzke (21). He took 2 wickets for 18 runs in his four overs. Dawson was also well supported by fellow spinner Simon Harmer and took the big wicket of this season's MVP Heinrich Klaasen and played a key role in taking his team to victory.
