Sachin congratulates Alastair Cook, Neetu David, AB de Villiers on induction into ICC Hall of Fame

Alastair Cook, Neetu David and AB de Villiers have been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. These three are the 113th, 114th and 115th members of the Hall of Fame. India's legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has praised the contribution of the three players on the social media platform 'X'.

Neetu David is a former left-handed batsman from India, who apart from playing 10 Tests, has also played 97 ODI matches for India. She is the second Indian woman to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame after Diana Edulji.


Alastair Cook is a former England captain and left-handed opening batsman. Cook has scored 12,472 runs in 161 test matches. He has also scored 33 centuries. Apart from this, he has also played 92 ODI matches.

AB de Villiers is one of the greatest batsmen in the world. The former South African batsman had added new dimensions to batting in cricket by hitting 360 degree shots. He retired with an average of more than 50 in Tests and ODIs.

Posting about these three players on 'X', Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Three amazing cricketers have been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. These three have made a huge contribution to the game of cricket. Alastair Cook gave a new dimension to patience and perseverance as a Test opener. Neetu David is a true legend of Indian women's cricket. AB de Villiers revolutionized modern batting with his 360-degree style. Many congratulations to all of them!

Apart from Sachin, former Indian cricket captain Mithali Raj also posted on Instagram congratulating these three cricketers and wrote, “Many congratulations to Neetu David on being included in the ICC Hall of Fame. Proud to see his contribution being recognised. Big congratulations to Alastair Cook and AB de Villiers too.”

It is noteworthy that the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame recognizes the contribution of great cricket players.
