Sahara Desert Flood: Flood in Sahara, the world's largest desert, many areas submerged in water.

Sahara desert flood : Recent heavy rains in the Sahara, the world's largest desert, have changed the picture of the region. These days floods have caused havoc in the Sahara Desert in Africa. After heavy rains in the months of August and September, the sand dunes here have been filled with flood water. The areas here were submerged in water. According to Moroccan news, the village of Tagounite, located 450 km south of the capital Rabat, received more than 100 mm of rain in just 24 hours in September, according to the meteorological agency. Storms in September have left shocking images of water flowing across Saharan sand amid palaces and desert vegetation, the report said.

The sand dunes of the barren and desolate desert have submerged under water. The fields which were dry, have now become lush green. Experts have attributed this unusual rainfall to a rare combination of atmospheric conditions and changes in weather patterns due to climate change. Lake Iriki has filled after 50 years of drought in the Sahara desert. The once dry, barren lands have now transformed into vibrant green landscapes.

Meteorologists call this incident an extra tropical storm. This rain could change the region's weather patterns in the coming months and years. As the air absorbs more moisture, increased evaporation can lead to more frequent storms. Due to drought for six consecutive years, farmers abandoned farms and communities had to rely on water scarcity. This rain can help replenish underground reservoirs that are vital to life in these desert areas. The region's dams saw record levels of filling throughout September.
