Saheefa Jabbar Khattak criticizes poor access to basic services
Pakistani actress and model Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has voiced her dissatisfaction with the state of essential services in the country, pointing to frequent disruptions in internet connectivity as a major issue.
Taking to Instagram, Khattak shared her frustration over the lack of reliable internet access, describing it as an unacceptable failure. She argued that as a law-abiding, tax-paying citizen, access to basic services should not be a luxury but a fundamental right.
“I fulfill my responsibilities as a citizen—I pay taxes, obey the laws, and contribute to society,” Khattak stated. “In return, I only ask for reliable internet, something that should be standard in any functional country.” She added that her expectations from the state had diminished to the bare essentials, expressing disappointment over what she described as a lack of progress.
Her remarks come at a time when widespread internet disruptions have been reported across various regions in Pakistan. Residents have faced challenges with mobile data, Wi-Fi, and social media platforms, struggling to send files, access voice messaging, or even upload content.
Khattak also highlighted Lahore’s deteriorating air quality, stating that the severe smog was making it increasingly difficult to breathe. She noted that even staying indoors offered no respite, as the poor internet compounded her challenges, affecting her work and personal connections.
The actress’s candid remarks underscore the growing frustration among citizens over failing infrastructure and basic amenities in the country.
