Mumbai: On the night of January 16, Saif Ali Khan was fatally attacked by an intruder who entered his house, in which the actor was seriously injured. After this he was immediately admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. According to the latest information, Saif Ali Khan's condition is now stable and the doctors have decided to discharge him from the hospital this afternoon. However, the actor has still been advised bed rest.

According to hospital sources, Saif Ali Khan may be discharged by 2 pm today. Saif, who was injured in the attack, had a piece of knife stuck in his spinal cord, which was removed by doctors through surgery. After this surgery, his health is improving, but he cannot walk right now. Therefore, doctors have advised him complete bed rest.

Investigation revealed that the intruder had entered Saif Ali Khan's house with the intention of stealing. When caught inside the house, she argued with Saif's maid and when the actor intervened, she stabbed her about six times with a knife. During this, Saif was seriously injured. After the attack, Saif somehow controlled himself and took himself to the hospital in an auto rickshaw.

Mumbai Police has arrested the accused from Thane. He has been identified as Shariful Islam Shahzad, a Bangladeshi national. During interrogation it was revealed that out of fear of being caught, he attacked the actor and tried to run away. The police have sent the accused on remand till January 24.
