Producer Vijay Kiragandur has confirmed that Salaar 2, which is a sequel to cult hit Salaar, will begin production very soon on a massive scale. He highly praised director Prashanth Neel.
Salaar has not only become a big hit at the worldwide box office but also turned into a super success on OTT. Hombale Films has announced it will do a sequel to it. Since Prabhas is currently busy shooting for Kalki 2, Fauz and Spirit, there is a kind of uncertainty surrounding Salaar 2 with no clear timeline for the film yet.
In a recent interview, producer Vijay Kiragandur revealed that Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Salaar 2 will dive into production very soon. Calling it an ‘absolute behemoth,’ he revealed the sequel is building on the massive global success of Salaar and the overwhelming fan demand.
When asked about Salaar 2, Vijay Kiragandur said, “Prashanth Neel is undoubtedly one of the finest directors working today, and like all great artists, he is his own toughest critic. The reality is that Salaar was a mammoth success at the global box office and continues to be one of the most-watched films on OTT platforms.”
Producer Vijay Kiragandur added, “Building on that massive foundation, Salaar 2 is set to become an absolute behemoth. We are constantly inundated with fan requests regarding its development, and we are thrilled to share that we will be diving into production very soon.
Prabhas needs at least 1.5 to 2 years to complete Fauzi, Spirit, and Kalki 2. On the other hand, director Prashanth Neel is also occupied with his project Dragon starring Junior NTR. It remains uncertain when Salaar 2 will go on floors. But the producer says that Salaar will go into production soon. It needs to be seen when it will go on floors.
