Salim Khan admitted to hospital due to brain haemorrhage, no need for surgery: Lilavati doctor
Salim Khan, father of famous screenwriter and actor Salman Khan, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai due to health related problem. According to the hospital administration, mild bleeding was found in his brain, after which doctors immediately started necessary investigation and treatment. Senior doctor Dr. Jalil Parkar said that to treat this condition, a routine and safe procedure called ‘DSA’ (Digital Subtraction Angiography) was done, which was successful.
He said that the good thing is that he did not need any kind of surgery. Doctors said that at present Salim Khan has been kept on ventilator support as a precautionary measure, so that his condition can be continuously monitored. Doctors say that his condition is stable and it is expected that he will be removed from the ventilator soon.
According to hospital sources, he was brought to the emergency department of the hospital by his family doctor around 8:30 am on February 17. After initial examination and treatment, he was shifted to ICU, where a team of expert doctors is monitoring him.
During the treatment, many specialist doctors including neurologist, cardiologist and neurosurgeon were involved in his care. Doctors said that his condition is under control and at present there is no possibility of any serious danger. However, his health is being constantly monitored and the hospital administration has also said that the confidentiality of the patient will be maintained.
As soon as the news of Salim Khan’s hospitalization was received, family members and close people came to meet him. Apart from his son Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Helen, Salma Khan, Arpita Khan Sharma, Ayush Sharma and other family members are continuously visiting the hospital to inquire about his well being. Apart from this, close family friends Javed Akhtar and Sanjay Dutt also reached the hospital and met Salim Khan.
Doctors say that there is nothing to worry about at the moment and his condition is expected to improve after treatment. Family and fans are wishing for his speedy recovery.
