Salman Aga taught the lesson of sportsmanship on run out controversy, said – I choose sportsman spirit over rules

New Delhi. Pakistan’s star batsman Salman Agha delivered a new message emphasizing sportsman spirit after his controversial run-out in the second ODI against Bangladesh. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz was bowling in the 39th over of the innings. On the fourth ball, Mohammad Rizwan’s shot went straight towards Salman Agha standing at the non-striker end. Miraj picked up the ball and saw that Salman was still outside the crease, after which he immediately appealed to the umpire for a run out. The third umpire declared him out as per the rules.

After the incident, Salman Aga said that he believes that Miraj acted within the limits of the rules. But if he had the chance, he would choose sportsmanship over rules. He said, “It was just in the heat of the moment. I always follow the rules, but no matter what the situation is in the game, sportsmanship has to come first.”

Clarifying his point, Salman said, “What Mehdi did is right within the framework of the rules. If he feels it is right, then it is right. But from my perspective, I would have done things differently. I will always give priority to the spirit of the game.” His statement proved that in cricket, not only following the rules but also the spirit of the game is equally important.

This approach of Salman Agha is worth learning for the players and fans. He gave the message that victory and defeat are important in sports, but sportsmanship and honesty should be above all. Fans appreciated his statement and considered it a positive message for cricket. This incident is a reminder that players can always maintain the spirit of the game while still playing within the rules.
