China angry over Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’, gave sharp statement after seeing the teaser
‘Battle of Galwan: Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Battle of Galwan’ has been the topic of discussion ever since its teaser came out. While Indian fans are praising it and eagerly waiting for the release of the film, according to reports, the teaser has received a strong reaction from China. Chinese experts have dismissed the film, saying it is not based on facts and that Bollywood cannot “rewrite history”.

According to the Global Times, Chinese analysts allege that the film lacks factual accuracy. He said that no matter how dramatic or patriotic a film is, it cannot affect China’s territorial claims or historical reality. His remarks claimed that Indian cinema may rely too much on emotions and drama, but even the most “high-spirited story” cannot change the reality on the ground.
Chinese commentators further argued that such films are made for domestic emotional appeal and will not impact China’s stance on Galwan, the LAC or territorial sovereignty.
“A film cannot rewrite history” – Chinese expert
After watching the teaser, Chinese media reportedly questioned the authenticity of the story shown in the film. He stressed that Bollywood films are primarily based on entertainment, and no matter how glorified they are, they cannot undermine China’s military position or historical claims.
Some Chinese social media users also criticized the teaser, calling it overdramatic and factually misleading.
China’s stance on LAC dispute
China has consistently claimed that the Galwan Valley falls on its side of the LAC, and says its troops have been patrolling the area for years. They also alleged that India’s infrastructure development in the region led to tensions, and accused Indian troops of violating agreements during the June 15, 2020 clash — a claim India has vehemently rejected.

‘Battle of Galwan’ directed by Apoorva Lakhia was earlier scheduled to release on March 17, 2026, on the occasion of Eid. However, due to the big box office clash with ‘Toxic’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’, the makers have postponed the release.
