Last year, Abhinav Kashyap had made serious allegations against Salman Khan and his family in several video interviews. After these interviews, Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan filed a defamation case against Abhinav Kashyap. Now Abhinav Kashyap’s brother and famous director Anurag Kashyap has broken his silence on this controversy for the first time and told why he was avoiding speaking in this matter.
Anurag Kashyap’s statement
Anurag Kashyap told Mid Day, “I know what actually happened, but I will not say anything in this matter. Abhinav had clearly told me not to say anything about him publicly. Being a brother, I respect him and am following his wishes. The defamation case that was filed against him has also been settled as per the decision.”

In many interviews, Abhinav Kashyap had used words like ‘coward’ for Salman Khan and ‘donkey’ and ‘jihadi’ for his brother Arbaaz Khan. He had continuously given sharp statements against Salman Khan and his family. Due to this controversy, Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan had demanded a public apology along with a compensation of Rs 9 crore.
Abhinav Kashyap as the director of ‘Dabangg’
Abhinav Kashyap got special recognition in Bollywood as the director of the film Dabangg (2010). Salman Khan played the lead role in this film and Arbaaz Khan was the co-producer. ‘Dabangg’ has an IMDb rating of 6.3 and is still popular among the audience.
It has become clear from Anurag Kashyap’s statement that keeping in mind his family relations and personal respect, he did not comment anything publicly on this controversy. The legal process in this matter has now been completed and both the parties have moved forward.
