When Salman Khan’s choreographer became his driver-cook, this funny dance move was the gift of the bonfire party
Makers’ solo plan and Salman’s entry
Very few people know that Salman Khan was actually not going to be a part of the song ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’. The initial plan of the makers of the film was something else. He wanted only Malaika Arora’s solo performance in this song. The makers thought that Malaika’s dance alone was enough to bring life to the song, but when Salman Khan heard this song for the first time, he liked it so much that he could not stop himself from participating in it. He expressed his desire to the makers that he also wanted to perform in this song.
This is how the iconic dance move happened while having fun
It was decided to be included in the song, but now the choreography had to be decided. Salman himself found the answer to this. One day he reached his Panvel farm house with his team. His driver and cook were also present with him there. Salman lit a bonfire at night and started playing the song ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ on the speaker. What happened next, probably even Bhaijaan himself did not expect. Salman’s drivers and cook did some steps, seeing which Salman Khan was quite impressed. He found these steps quite funny and interesting. Salman found those dance steps so natural and full of fun that those moves were finalized.
231 crore business and Chulbul’s magic
That step from that bonfire party in Panvel’s farm house not only became a surprise for the moviegoers, but also became Salman Khan’s signature move forever. Talking about the budget and earnings of the film, ‘Dabangg’, made at a cost of around Rs 100 crore, did a total business of Rs 231 crore at the box office at that time.
