Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has stepped forward to support flood-hit communities in Assam by coordinating relief efforts through his charitable organisation Being Human and the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam.
According to reports, the actor, who is currently shooting for director Vamshi Paidipally’s upcoming film in Mumbai, personally coordinated with the fan club to ensure timely assistance reached people affected by the devastating floods.
Relief drive launched in phases
As part of the first phase of the initiative, Being Human and SKFC Assam have begun distributing ready-to-eat food packets to families in Sivasagar. The relief materials are being dispatched from Guwahati to the flood-affected region.
Each food packet contains biscuits, jaggery, poha, puffed rice, bread, cheese and jam, with the aim of providing sufficient food for families for at least three days.
In addition to food, volunteers are distributing drinking water, water-purification tablets, sanitary pads and mosquito coils to help meet immediate essential needs.
More support planned
The second phase of the relief programme is expected to begin next week and will focus on distributing ration kits and medicines to affected families.
In the final phase, Being Human plans to assist in rebuilding schools and hospitals that have suffered damage in the floods, supporting the long-term rehabilitation of the affected communities.

The initiative highlights a combination of immediate humanitarian assistance and long-term recovery efforts, with Salman Khan’s NGO working alongside local volunteers to ensure relief reaches those most in need.
The phased approach is expected to provide both emergency aid and support for rebuilding critical public infrastructure in Assam’s worst-affected areas.
