What is the real story of ‘Battle of Galwan’?
The film Battle of Galwan is based on the 2020 clash between India and China in the Galwan Valley, which took place on the Line of Control (LAC) on June 15. Soldiers of both the countries had to suffer losses in this violent clash. The special thing in this conflict was that according to the agreement between the two countries, firearms are not used on the border, so Indian and Chinese soldiers used sticks and stones.

According to Al Jazeera, the clash took place over two Chinese tents and observation towers, which Indian officials said were “built on the Indian side of the LAC”. According to Reuters, about 900 soldiers from both sides beat each other with stones and wooden sticks. In this conflict, Indian Army’s Colonel B. Santosh Babu showed unparalleled courage and was posthumously awarded Mahavir Chakra.
