Salman Khan mediating in ‘Don 3’ dispute? Here’s the truth
Fresh details have emerged in the ongoing Don 3 controversy, with news of Salman Khan stepping in to settle differences between Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar.
Speculation surfaced on Friday claiming the 60-year-old star had acted as a mediator in the dispute.
However a source close to the matter told HT City, “The speculations of Salman Khan calling and acting as a mediator are not true. No such intervention has taken place.”

The Dhurandhar star was announced as the new face of Don 3 in 2023 but the film faced repeated delays.
According to sources, the hold-ups did not come from Farhan Akhtar or producer Ritesh Sidhwani.

“Farhan wanted to start it immediately after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023),” a source said, adding that the 40-year-old actor had already committed dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra and later became involved with another project from filmmaker Prasanth Varma.
The source further claimed that Ranveer eventually decided to focus on Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, believing it could help rebuild momentum after a run of underperforming films.
“Once Dhurandhar picked up momentum, Ranveer backed out of Don 3 on December 20, 2025, just three weeks before the film was scheduled to go on floors,” the source alleged.
The issue later grew into a wider industry matter. Reports claimed Excel Entertainment sought damages over pre-production expenses, including overseas recce trips and arrangements for a large crew.
The matter reportedly reached both the Producers Guild of India and FWICE.
The dispute has also sparked debate within industry bodies, with some questioning whether calls for non-cooperation against actors should involve wider consultation.
