Salman Khan Stepping Away From Hosting Bigg Boss? Actor Hints ‘Happy Today Is Last…’
Salman Khan, who has been synonymous with Bigg Boss since he began hosting in Season 4, declared Karan Veer Mehra as the winner of Bigg Boss 18 during the grand finale, with Vivian Dsena as the runner-up. However, Salman hinted that his journey as the host of the controversial reality show might be coming to an end.
During the finale, Salman, known for his wit and humour, jokingly remarked, “I have hosted 15-16 seasons… I won’t be able to do the next one. I am so happy that today is the last day on this stage. I’m just waiting to raise my hands and be done.” The comment left the audience in splits, though fans believe he was in a lighthearted mood and wasn’t making a serious announcement.
Salman’s hosting has been a major draw for Bigg Boss fans, with his unique style, charm, and ability to keep contestants in check making him irreplaceable. Over the years, the actor has developed a love-hate relationship with the show, often hinting at quitting due to the stress it brings.
In an earlier interview with Mumbai MirrorSalman revealed the challenges of hosting the show, saying, “A part of me wants to cut this part of my life and throw it out, but another part wants to keep it. The latter usually wins.” During Bigg Boss 13after the infamous tea-flinging fight between Sidharth Shukla and Rashami Desai, Salman reportedly expressed frustration to the show’s producers and even considered exiting the show.
Despite these moments, Salman has remained the face of the show, which has consistently brought together some of the biggest names from television and cinema.
Bigg Boss 18 premiered on October 4, 2024, with a star-studded lineup, including Vivian Dsena, Karan Veer Mehra, Alice Kaushik, and Eisha Singh, among others. Wild card entrants like Digvijay Rathee and Aditi Mistry added drama to the season. Karan Veer Mehra emerged victorious, taking home a prize of ₹50 lakh.
