Salman Khan’s big action on the film ‘Black Deer’! Legal notice sent to Lawrence Bishnoi for showing controversy, stir before release
New Delhi: A legal notice has been sent by Salman Khan regarding the upcoming film ‘Black Deer’. According to media reports, Salman’s legal team has warned people associated with the film. Actually, on behalf of Salman Khan, law firm DSK Legal sent a notice to casting director Akshay Pandey on 24 April 2026. In this, a demand has been made to immediately stop the production and promotion of the film.
Salman’s team says that the film is inspired by his 1998 black buck poaching case. The film may tarnish his image, the legal process going on in the court may be affected and his personal rights are being violated. Salman has not given permission to use his name, identity or any incident related to him. Therefore, there has been talk of banning the film.
Teaser was to come on June 20
The poster of the film ‘Black Deer’ was released recently. Its first look and teaser was to be released on June 20. The actors shown in the poster are not generally known. The film claims to show the dispute between Salman Khan and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Producer Amit Jani had earlier told IANS that the film is based on the 1998 Jodhpur Kankani village black buck poaching case, a courtroom drama, crime and thriller. The shooting took place in Sambhal, Moradabad and other areas of Uttar Pradesh.
What was the black buck issue?
Salman Khan was accused of blackbuck hunting during the shooting of the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ in Jodhpur in 1998. On the complaint of Bishnoi community, cases were also registered against him along with Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam.
Salman was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 in this case on 5 April 2018. However, he later got bail. Other artists were acquitted. This case is still pending in Rajasthan High Court. The hearing was held in May 2026 and the next date has been fixed for July 13, 2026. Salman is currently out on bail.
