Salmon Recalled Due to Potential Listeria Contamination

A recall was just announced on salmon sold in seven states, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The product recalled is 2-pound bags of Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club stores in the following states: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. There are currently no illnesses connected to this recall.
The affected salmon was sold from January 31 through February 7, 2026, and contains a UPC of “888670025963” and lot code “3896” on its packaging. The recalled salmon has a printed best-by date of June 30, 2027. Check your freezer, and if your salmon matches the recall information, dispose of it or contact your local BJ’s for a refund.
Listeria infection (listeriosis) can cause symptoms like headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions, and these symptoms can grow more severe for those who are immunocompromised, pregnant, age 65 or older and for young children.
