Salute to the great warriors of cricket: Dravid, Binny and Mithali will receive BCCI’s highest lifetime achievement award, see full list.
New Delhi: Three great players, Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny and Mithali Raj, who have made historical contributions to Indian cricket, will be honored with BCCI’s prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. The ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in New Delhi.
BCCI has announced that Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid have been named as Colonel C.K. Nayudu will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award (BCCI’s highest honor in the men’s category), while Mithali Raj will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for the women. These awards are given for the development of Indian cricket and contribution at the global level.
Roger Binny (member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team and leading wicket-taker) later served as the Under-19 coach, selector and also as the BCCI President from 2022-2025. His role was important in the golden era of Indian cricket.
Rahul Dravid scored 24,000+ runs in 509 international matches and took more than 400 catches. Under his captaincy, India won the historic Test series in England in 2007. As a coach, he has led the Under-19, India A and senior teams to success, including winning the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Mithali Raj created history in women’s cricket by scoring 10,000+ runs in 333 international matches. Under his captaincy, the Indian women’s team reached the World Cup finals twice, taking women’s cricket to new heights.
Apart from this, other major awards of the 2024-25 season:
– Polly Umrigar Award (Cricketer of the Year – Male): Shubman Gill (Test and ODI captain, second time for outstanding performance).
– Best International Cricketer (Women): Smriti Mandhana (5th time, 1800+ runs).
– Most wickets in ODI (women): Deepti Sharma.
– Most runs in ODI (women): Smriti Mandhana.
– Best International Debut (Men): Harshit Rana.
– Best International Debut (Women): N Shri Charani.
– Best performance in domestic tournaments: Mumbai Cricket Association.
– Best performance in Ranji Trophy (various categories): Harsh Dubey (Vidarbha – wickets and all-rounder), Yash Rathore (Vidarbha – runs), Suchit J (Nagaland), Snehal Kauthankar (Goa) etc.
– Lala Amarnath Award (Domestic Limited Over Allrounder): Ayush Mhatre (Mumbai).
– Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy (Junior/Senior Women): Ira Jadhav, Shafali Verma etc.
– MA. Chidambaram Trophy (Under-19/Under-23): Hemchudesan J, Vicky Ostwal, Nitya J Pandya etc.
The BCCI also plans to honor teams that have won multiple ICC trophies in recent years (such as the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning men’s team). This event will simultaneously celebrate the glorious history and future of Indian cricket.
