The incident happened on Wednesday when Sam Konstas was going for his match in the ongoing BBL 2024-25. A fan who saw him walking parked the car with the handbrake off to chase the player for the autograph. The car rolled down and crashed into a supermarket. Fortunately, no one was hurt as per the reports.
Hearing the news, Konstas said that he wasn’t aware of anyone following him. He also added that he would sign some stuff for the fan.
“Hopefully I’ll see him later today and sign some stuff. But yeah, hopefully he’s all good. I didn’t even know (he was chasing me). It wasn’t funny, but hopefully he’s all good. But I saw the clip and, yeah, it was a bit viral.“
Konstas has been a rising star since the currently culminated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as the 19-year-old had a lot of heated exchanges with Indian stars like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.
