There was a big uproar in Sambhal on 24th November regarding the survey of the mosque. Five people lost their lives in incidents of firing and stone pelting during the dispute. About 20 people were injured, most of them policemen. There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after the incident. Heavy police force has been deployed. The administration has started strict surveillance to control the situation.
