Samay Raina has shown a grand gesture of support for Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s latest female-led spy thriller, Alphafollowing its release.
On Sunday, July 5, the 28-year-old comedian extended his support to the 33-year-old and 29-year-old actresses by booking an entire theatre in Mumbai for a special screening of Yash Raj Films’ latest release.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Samay shared a clip of a packed theatre, with the audience cheering and flashing peace signs as he recorded them.
“We here for Alpha!” he wrote.
In a subsequent Story, the YouTuber was seen FaceTiming Alia Bhatt, captioning the post, “Lesssgoooo @aliabhatt.”
He also praised Sharvari and her performance in the film.
“Lesssgoooo @sharvari. Big fan,” Samay wrote, adding a red heart and dancing woman emoji alongside a still of the actress on the big screen.
The special screening came just a day after the India’s Got Latent host announced on Instagram that he wanted to organise the event as a gesture of appreciation for Alia and Sharvari, who appeared as panelists on the first episode of his show before its first-season controversy.
“It’s just a small gesture from me to show love to Alia and Sharvari for being soooo cool that they came on my show’s first episode. Love them both and super excited to see their movie! See you guys tomorrow!” he wrote.
To attend the screening, Samay said he would send tickets to 250 fans via WhatsApp, provided they were registered on his pre-sale list.
