After Ayodhya and Varanasi, now a plan has been prepared to develop Sambhal as a new religious tourism centre. According to Hindu beliefs, Kalki, the last incarnation of Lord Vishnu, will be born in Sambhal. On this basis, the government is preparing to develop this district as a major pilgrimage site.
According to the report of Indian Express, under this scheme, 68 pilgrimage sites, 19 ancient Mahakups and 24 Kosi Parikrama route will be revived. The approximately 52 km long Parikrama Yatra will be developed at a cost of Rs 300 crore. Better roads will be built on this route and a separate elevated footpath will also be prepared for the pilgrims on foot.
After how many years will 24 Kosi Parikrama start again?
be careful According to District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia, 24 Kosi Parikrama is being started again after almost 50 years. This journey stopped after 1972. During this period, there was encroachment on many parts of the Parikrama Marg, which was removed within 4-5 months and the path was cleared. He said that under this project, a 7 meter wide road and a 3 meter wide walkway will be built, so that the devotees can easily circumambulate.
How many religious places does the government plan to add?
The government’s plan is not limited to just building roads, but there are preparations to convert the entire district into a religious corridor. 24 Major pilgrimages like Kalki, Bhuvaneshwari, Chandeshwar and Naimisharanya will also be included in the Kosi Parikrama route. Most of the total 87 identified religious places will be connected to this route.

The government is also planning to connect Sambhal with the Mathura-Vrindavan religious circuit. According to this;

According to officials, at present around 6-7 lakh devotees come to 24 Kosi Parikrama every year. This number may increase manifold after the completion of the project.

Last year, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had described Sambhal as a symbol of Hindu faith and said that those who did injustice to Sambhal would be answered. After this, the discussion of making Sambhal a religious tourism center intensified.
